FastPic5 inventory management software has a barcode scanning feature that improves the accuracy of put-and-pick transactions in food processing and distribution applications. With it, an operator uses a barcode scanner to scan an item as it is picked from a storage location. The software verifies the barcode and matches it to the part requested. The picker scans the part and then scans the location as the part is placed into inventory, verifying it is being placed in the correct storage location. The software can be configured to scan barcodes by transaction, type or material keyed to storage locations. Designed to manage manual and automated storage and retrieval systems, the software can also be configured to control single workstations and multiple work zones.
