The double planetary mixer with Teflon- coated and patented HV blades enables the mixing of ultra-high viscosity formulations, says Charles Ross & Son, the manufacturer. The blade design is capable of mixing products up to 8 million cps, and assists in the rapid incorporation of light and difficult-to-wet solids such as fumed silica. The blades clean the walls and bottom of the vessel during the mix cycle, while the Teflon coating assists in fast cleaning between batches and color changes. The DPM model is available with options including sanitary design, special benches, vacuum and pressure sealing options. Sizes from 1/2 pint through 750 gallons working capacity are available.
