Intended for use in high-bandwidth and throughput applications, Siemens’ Scalance X300 compact, high-performance gigabit switches help migrate fast Ethernet to gigabit standards, providing the ability to integrate plant floor networks with enterprise networks. Redundant path communication is protected via ring-switching technology and mesh architectures using spanning tree and rapid spanning tree; lost communication data can be obtained via Web interface, e-mail or single network management. Operating at temperatures from -20°C to 70°C with condensation, the switches support 100 Mbits/second via Profinet, twisted copper wire or fiber optic cable.
