Home » Senate passes amendment in favor of GE fish labeling
The US Senate passed an amendment offered by Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) to its budget resolution that would establish a deficit-neutral reserve fund for the labeling of genetically engineered fish. While the Senate’s budget is non-binding and unlikely to be reconciled with the House’s version, labeling advocates hope the amendment will increase pressure on FDA to require labeling if GE fish is approved.
