Amendment would require HACCP systems and Sanitation SOPs
The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a proposed amendment to egg products inspection regulations.
The proposed amendment would require official plants that process egg products to develop Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (Sanitation SOPs). The plants would also be required to meet other sanitation requirements consistent with meat and poultry regulations.
