Dr. Lee Johnson
John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. completed the acquisition of certain assets and assumption of certain liabilities of Orchard Valley Harvest, Inc. of Modesto, CA.

Dr. Lee Johnson, vice president of technical services of West Liberty Foods, LLC, was named by the USDA as a new member to the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods (NACMCF).

Wellington Foods Inc., a nutritional supplement manufacturer, received the Natural Products Association Good Manufacturing Practices (NPA GMP) certification for the dietary supplement industry.

PepsiCo says it will spend $2.5 billion in China over the next three years and develop products for the Chinese market as it intensifies competition with Coca-Cola in emerging markets. The newly announced investment is in addition to the $1 billion investment the company announced in 2008, which will be completed this year.

The Coca-Cola Company entered into an agreement with Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. to distribute certain DPS brands, subject to the completion of The Coca-Cola Company’s acquisition of CCE’s North American bottling business.

Sara Lee Corp. completed the sale of its 51 percent stake in its Godrej Sara Lee joint venture to Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. for a total amount of $230 million.

Archie Gwathmey, co-CEO, Bunge Global Agribusiness (BGA) and Bunge Product Lines (BPL), will retire after a 35-year career at the company. Drew Burke, currently co-CEO of BGA and BPL, will assume the newly created role of Bunge Limited global operational excellence officer. Raul Padilla, currently co-CEO of Bunge Argentina, will become CEO of BGA and BPL.

Spiroflow Systems, Inc. acquired Dynamet, a Michigan-based manufacturer of bulk materials handling equipment.
