Admix, Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Boston Shearpump line of sanitary, high intensity in-line mixers and shearpumps from Copek Industrial Products. All operations and manufacturing will be consolidated at the Admix facility in Manchester, NH. "The merger of the Boston Shearpump products within the Admix organization will allow us the opportunity to substantially expand our capabilities to better serve our customers" says Hans Copek, who will continue as the Technical Director of the Boston Shearpump line. Lou Beaudette, President of Admix, Inc. states that "we are committed to enhancing the Boston Shearpump products through our research and testing capabilities, substantial increase in inventory and demonstration units, and expanded service and repair facilities."

Paxonix, the business solution provider for global product and packaging development activities, has named Edward Samuel, Jr. to the position of vice president, global operations. "Ed has had considerable success developing and implementing high-performance customer service organizations in support of e-business and enterprise solutions," says Paxonix CEO James R. Chambers.

Tyson Foods, Inc. and IBP, Inc. announced the Delaware Chancery Court approved their revised merger plans. Under a Stipulation and Order modifying the existing merger agreement, Tyson will acquire all outstanding shares of IBP on the same economic terms provided by the original agreement.

It was announced that Don Canterna will assume the role of President of Waukesha Cherry-Burrell. Canterna, formerly Senior Vice President of Operations, will report to Bill Griffths, President of SPX's Fluid Systems Division. "We are fortunate to have someone with Don's experience stepping into the leadership position," Griffiths said. "During his tenure with the company, he has been instrumental in implementing programs that have greatly improved our product quality, price competitiveness and delivery to customers." Waukesha Cherry-Burrell's parent company, Charlotte, North Carolina-based United Dominion Industries, was recently purchased by SPX Corporation, Muskegon, Michigan.

The Foundation of the Inernational Association of Food Industry Suppliers selected its recipients for two $2,500 Food Engineering Scholarships for the 2001-2002 academic year. Iowa State University junior Teresa Kochan received the Paul Girton Food_Engineering Scholarship, and Mary Crawford, a sophomore at Oklahoma State University, received the Gordon Houran Food Engineering Scholarship. Kochan, who is majoriing in Chemical Engeering with a minor in Food Science, and Crawford, a Biosystems Engineering major with a Food and Bioprocessing option, were chosen by a distinguished, seven-member panel composed of IAFIS members and university professors. In addition to the $2,500 award, the students will each receive a $500 travel grant to attend Worldwide Food Expo 'O1 in Chicago.
