Hassia USA, which includes the sales and service support for the A+F Automation and Gasti product lines, has combined all of its sales and service organizations under the corporate name IWKA Packaging USA.
McCain Foods Ltd. is acquiring Jon-Lin, a privately owned California-based maker of roasted vegetables, onion rings and other appetizers.
Main Street Ingredients LLC, a La Crosse, WI, manufacturer of functional food ingredients, acquired Hilton House Foods, Wichita, KS. Hilton House Foods makes specialty products for the ice cream and bakery industries. Production in Wichita will continue for a period, but will eventually be transitioned to the La Crosse facility.
Nascent Wine plans to acquire Palermo Foods. Palermo, which is currently a member of the Bellissimo Food Group, is an Italian food import and distribution company based in Miami, serving Miami, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Kraft Foods is selling its Minute Rice brand and assets to Ebro Puleva, S.A., a rice producer and distributor based in Spain for approximately $280 million.
Chuck Marble has been named vice president of Weetabix North America, a newly consolidated group including Barbara's Bakery Inc., The Weetabix Co. and Weetabix of Canada. Previously, Marble was president and CEO of Triad Foods Group.
A manufacturer and marketer of premium Italian cheeses, Gorgonzola, blue and other specialty cheeses, Sartori Foods acquired Antigo Cheese Co., a maker of premium, specialty aged cheeses with operations in Antigo, WI, and Blackfoot, ID.
