FMC Technologies, Inc. completed the spin-off of its FoodTech and Airport Systems businesses into a publicly traded company named John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT).

FMC Technologies, Inc. completed the spin-off of its FoodTech and Airport Systems businesses into a publicly traded company named John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT). The spin-off was completed on July 31, 2008. JBT Corp. was founded by John Bean in the 1880s. Its spray pump technology was first used in the food industry and later adapted to airport de-icing systems.

Golden State Foods announced today two new members to its board of directors: Nabil N. El-Hage, professor of management practice at Harvard Business School, and Michael L. Waitukaitis, vice chairman of the board at Golden State Foods.

Unilever is completing the sale of its Lawry’s and Adolph’s branded seasoning blends and marinades businesses to McCormick & Company, Inc.

TreeHouse Foods, Inc. appointed Harry J. Walsh president of Bay Valley Foods, an operating company of TreeHouse. Walsh was senior vice president-operations of TreeHouse. D. Joe Coning leaves the post of president of Bay Valley Foods to assume the position of senior vice president-supply chain at the TreeHouse corporate office.

Clearly Canadian Brands signed a letter of intent to acquire Crofters Food Ltd., one of North America’s largest producers and marketers of organic jams and spreads. The acquisition will more than double the size of Clearly Canadian Brands.

Campbell Soup Company entered into an agreement to sell its Generale Condimentaire (GECO) business to Lesieur, a company indirectly held by Sofiproteol, the financial arm of the French oilseed producers.

Winston Boyd, PhD.

Lawrence Foods, Inc., an Illinois-based manufacturer of bakery ingredients, named Winston Boyd, PhD, as its new VP & chief chemist. Boyd previously worked as technical and business development director for an international food ingredients distributor.

US Green Building Council’s LEED V3-certification bodies now include ABS Quality Evaluations, BSI Management Systems America, Bureau Veritas North America, DNV Certification, Intertek, KEMA-Registered Quality, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, NSF–International Strategic Registrations, SRI Quality System Registrar and Underwriters Laboratories-DQS.
