Dr. Debra DeMuth

Campbell Soup Company appointed Dr. Debra DeMuth as vice president global nutrition. DeMuth joins Campbell from McDonald’s Corporation, where she served as director of global nutrition.


Nestlé concluded the acquisition of Kraft Foods’ frozen pizza business on March 1. In another announcement, Nestlé acquired LLC Technocom in Ukraine, a processor of culinary dehydrated products under the Mivina brand.


Linda Zarda Cook, former executive director of Royal Dutch Shell plc in Den Haag, The Netherlands, was elected to Cargill’s board of directors.


Sargento Foods Inc. expanded its sales team with the hiring of Bill Schaeffer, Tiffany O’Day, Mark Purvis and Bryan Suiter. Schaeffer was named director of sales within the Food Service Division.


Diamond Foods agreed to acquire Kettle Foods from Lion Capital LLP.


NutraCea’s board of directors promoted Leo G. Gingras to president; he will retain his title of chief operating officer.


Domino’s Pizza named Gregory A. Trojan and James A. Goldman to its board of directors.


Atlas Copco completed the acquisition of Quincy Compressor from EnPro Industries, with the exception of Quincy’s Chinese operations, where regulatory approvals from local authorities are still pending.

Townsends, Inc. appointed Frederick B. Beilstein as chief executive officer and Michael P. Schall, as president, sales and marketing.


TreeHouse Foods completed the acquisition of Sturm Foods for $660 million.


Red Lion Controls appointed Amber Ungrady to the position of director of quality.


SPX Corporation completed the acquisition of Gerstenberg Schroder A/S, a designer, manufacturer, installer and servicer of processing systems and components for the global food industry.


Key Technology appointed Teri Johnson to the new position of intercontinental sales manager for the Australia/New Zealand, Asia Pacific and Latin American regions.


Berlin Packaging completed its acquisition of All-Pak Inc., a Pittsburgh, PA-based packaging supplier.  


Julie Moran joined EPS Corp. as executive vice president and general manager, xChange Point. Moran spent seven years as senior vice president Safety-Clean Systems.


At the recent Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) conference held in Cancun, Mexico, Steve Hughes (Lyco Manufacturing, Inc.), Gil Williams (Poly-clip System Corp.), Bob Grote (The Grote Company) and John Campbell (Separators, Inc.) were elected to the board. FPSA’s new executive committee consists of Scott Scriven, chairman (Weber, Inc.); Barry Shoulders, immediate past chairman (Packaging Technologies); David Camp, vice chairman: (Key Technology, Inc.); Gene Teeter, treasurer (Meyer Industries, Inc.)  and Jeff Dahl, at-large (JBT FoodTech).


Automated Packaging Systems promoted Cliff Brehm to company president and chief operating officer.
