Plant Openings and Expansions

King’s Hawaiian Bakery, based in Torrance, CA, will locate a bakery and distribution center in Oakwood, GA. The new facility is expected to create 126 jobs over two years. The expected time of completion of the 111,000-sq.-ft. building is Fall 2011.

Jerome Cheese Company will add a new production line to its Jerome, ID plant. The line will produce mozzarella, focusing on West Coast customers. Currently the 320,000-sq.-ft.-facility produces more than 500,000 pounds of American cheddar cheese per day.

Vantage Foods Inc. will build new production facilities in Belleville, ON. The company provides case-ready meat solutions for retailers in Canada and the US.

Snyder’s of Hanover will begin construction on a solar farm that will be the largest ground-based solar energy system in Pennsylvania, with more than 16,000 panels spanning 20 acres. The solar farm will be built on a field across the road from the plant and corporate headquarters. It will reduce green house gas emissions by more than 230 million pounds of CO2 over a 25-year period.

The Coca-Cola Company announced the near-completion and opening of three new bottling plants in Inner Mongolia, China worth a combined 1.6 billion RMB ($240 million).
