Cross belt sorter
March 26, 2003
FKI Logistex Crisplant introduced a cross-belt sorter designed for high volume distribution centers and warehouses. The cross-belt sorter can sort at speeds up to 413 feet per minute for items that are fragile, high-friction or require horizontal discharge or those that must maintain their precise position and orientation throughout the entire sorting process.
On the induction unit, all items are dynamically measured and, if necessary, volume-scanned, weighed and identified.
The system attaches all relevant information to an item prior to the sorting process, ensuring that the handling of each item is optimized.
