Fluid bed dryer
March 27, 2003
Wolverine Proctor & Schwartz, Inc. has made improvements to its Jetzone Fluid Bed Dryer for production of roasted vegetables. The fluidizing air cushion surrounds and tumbles the product above the conveyor, resulting in rapid heat transfer, high thermal efficiency and product uniformity.
According to the company, the product is designed for longer dwell times than are common with standard oscillating pan conveyors. The belt has no perforations to plug or sift fines and can be cleaned outside the dryer without the need for a shutdown.
