GEA water polishing techniques enable dairy plants to recycle process water for cleaning purposes; with further treatment, the water can be sufficiently polished for it to be used for processing. The sweet “white water” from the cleaning process can also be collected and treated using reverse osmosis to allow the solids recovered to be returned to the process (for example, to increase the solids content in yogurt milk).
