USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a health alert to notify the public of a recall involving approximately 103, 752 pounds of chicken nugget products. Produced by Maxi Canada, Inc., a Québec, Canada, food manufacturer, the recall was issued because the products may be contaminated with metal pieces. FSIS says the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) notified US food safety officials about the recall since the affected products were exported to the United States.
The chicken nuggets were imported to the US between July 30, 2015 and March 5 and shipped nationwide to retailers such as Kroger, Wal-Mart, and Safeway.
