Engineered for food and beverage applications, Solvay food-safe Ryton polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) polymers are suitable for applications such as food-industry appliance components that operate at temperatures up to 392°F, including parts for deep-oil fryers, coffee machines, ovens and microwaves. Inherently flame retardant, the polymers comply with FDA and NSF51 requirements, as well as EU 10/2011 regulations for use as a component material intended for food contact applications. Ryton R-4-232 and Ryton R-4-242 polymers are 40% glass fiber-reinforced PPS compounds, while the Ryton R-7-232 polymer is a 65% glass/mineral-reinforced compound.
