Flaking mill roll
March 25, 2003
PERMA-FLEX, Inc. offers a new flaking roll designed to minimize the problems cereal producers have with conventional rolls. Flaking rolls produce corn and bran wheat flakes and often face the problem of shell and/or weld cracking, end leaking and poor run-out.
According to the manufacturer, the outer shell of the flaking rolls are made from alloy steel instead of chill iron that affords improved cooling. The roll ends have mechanical seals for inner and outer assemblies. The roll is ground to within .0002 inches TIR and straightness.
