88 percent of product damage is caused by poor and inefficient material handling practices.

A survey of material handlers, conducted by the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association (NWPCA) and Cahners Research, says that 88 percent of product damage is caused by poor and inefficient material handling practices. Damage occurs from tines, dropping the pallet load, improper integration with material handling systems or decreased integrity to support unit loads.

The NWPCA offers a 10-minute video on proper pallet handling techniques and how to spot trouble areas.
