Plastic container replaces metal can
After determining that safety, ease of use, and convenient storage were the top priorities for its customers, privately owned food service company Basic American Foods asked York, PA-based Graham Packaging Company to design an innovative plastic can for its WHIPP brand of potato granules, an instant mashed potato product for high-volume food service operations.

Graham's Safe-T-Can is a 105-fl.-oz., six-layer, high-density polyethylene container, which replaces No. 10 metal cans. The can features a wide-mouth, snap-off, reclosable cap, which eliminates the need for a can opener. A peel-back foil membrane barrier under the cap further protects food contents. The Safe-T-Can also features a built-in handle to ensure easy pouring and a no-slip grip.
