Designed to provide precise retention time necessary for cooling or drying a wide range of food products, Carrier’s 24-in. to 10-ft. diameter spiral elevators circulate chilled process air through a completely enclosed spiral to dry and cool products. Using a forced air distribution system, cool air is thrust from the center tube baffle through a perforated deck into the conveyed material, from above or beneath the unit. Suitable to replace or work with the direct heat transfer of process air, the spiral flights can be jacketed using water, steam or other fluid to provide indirect cooling. Each spiral flight is designed to eliminate pockets, ledges and corners; surfaces can be plasma- or Teflon-coated for elevating fatty or oily products.
