The General Monitors Model IR400 Point IR combustible gas detector features a 3-second T90 response time to the presence of combustible hydrocarbon-based gases. The detector operates by measuring the absorption of infrared radiation passing through a volume of gas using a dual-beam, single detector method. It measures the intensity of 2 specific wavelengths, 1 at an absorption wavelength and the other outside of the absorption wavelength.
