Mexico’s largest meat processor, Sigma Alimentos, S.A. DE C.V. (San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon), broke ground on a new meat processing plant in Sigma, OK. Plans call for the construction of a 13,000-sq.-ft., pre-cast concrete building that will contain processing and packaging equipment, as well as refrigerated and freezer space for cold cut meat products.



Malt-O-Meal is opening a ready-to-eat cereal manufacturing facility in Asheboro, NC.  The company is investing $104 million to refurbish the plant, which was previously owned by Unilever.



Ben & Jerry’s Homemade plans to add a pint production line at a Unilever ice cream plant in Henderson, NV.  The company is a Unilever subsidiary.



Dannon Co. plans to expand its yogurt plants in Minster, OH, and West Jordan, UT.
