GEA Filtration introduced an extension to its standard Model R membrane filtration pilot plant line. The new Model R-xp is engineered and built to NEC Class 1, Division I, Group C and D hazardous area construction standards. This is especially important for maintaining a safe testing or small-scale commercial production environment in specific food, food ingredient, and biotechnology applications.

The Model R-xp pilot plant can perform pilot studies on the full range of membrane filtration technologies under a wide range of operating conditions. It can be operated in batch mode, semi-batch mode, or in continuous feed and bleed mode. The Model R-xp is available for lease for short-term test programs or for purchase for longer-term test programs or commercial application.
