Extrusion

Coperion Corporation launched its ZSK MEGAvolume twin-screw extruder with closely intermeshing, co-rotating screws. According to the manufacturer, this unit provides food processors a larger free volume and the capacity to increase screw speed to 1,800 rpm.
The increased flight depth of the twin screws increases the free volume by 40 percent compared to the Coperion ZSK MEGAcooker which features screw speeds up to 1,200 rpm. The result, says Coperion, is a much higher potential rate of processing.
