The joint venture will include five filling lines, with hot fill, carbonated soda, canning and PET lines, as well as an in-house print shop, a bottle blow molder and more than 200,000 sq. ft. of warehousing.



Tetra Pak and its Chinese partner, Beijing Pulp & Paper Experimental Mill, opened an $80 million liquid food packaging system plant in Beijing that will have an annual production capacity of six billion packages.

A $500,000 expansion and automation project that included the installation of two new 50,000-gallon refrigerated stainless steel vessels, new computer controls for tanks, lines and automation advancements at Turner Dairy Farms' Penn Hills, PA, facility increased capacity for raw milk and orange juice.

Klöckner Pentaplast of America, Inc., is expanding its capacity for vinyl calendering and shrink-sleeve label films at its Rural Retreat, VA, manufacturing facility. Both expansions are expected to come on line in summer of 2005.

Interstate Warehousing, Inc., expects to complete construction of a new 150,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in Franklin, IN, by spring of 2005. Part of the company's network of refrigerated warehouses, the new facility will sit on a 30-acre site that has room for a future 750,000-sq.-ft. expansion.
