Thermo Electron has developed a contamination detection system, the Goring Kerr EZx, to fill the gap between traditional magnetic metal detectors and full-featured X-ray imaging systems in the food packaging industry. Sensitivity for ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel contaminants are as good as competing metal detectors, says the company. Multiple aperture sizes and line heights provide the unit with configuration flexibility to suit a range of products and production lines.
