Nestlé Waters opened a new 576,531-sq.-ft. plant next to its existing facility in Breinigsville, PA. The new building, which can be expanded by another 120,000 sq.ft. to accommodate future growth, meets  rigorous LEED specifications, and the official LEED certification process is underway. The $116 million project will create 250 new manufacturing jobs.



Green Meadows Dairy plans to open a state-of-the-art cheese and whey plant in Hull, IA in 2008. The 110,000-sq.-ft. facility will occupy the former Foreign Candy Company. The project will add 40,000 sq. ft. to the existing structure.



Kellogg’s Cheez-It factory in Cary, NC will expand to 450,000 sq. ft., making it the largest Kellogg manufacturing site in the US.



ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston officially marked the completion of an 85,000-sq.-ft. potato processing plant in Pasco, WA. Two new production lines for making potato- and onion-based appetizers were added to the facility.



Great Lakes Cheese Company of New York Inc., a private-label cheese company, has begun a $67 million processing plant expansion in Adams, NY.
