PROCESS EXPO Pre-show Report

June 1, 2010
Vertically aligned shows combine processing, packaging and ingredient solutions.

IIt’ll be all about food when PROCESS EXPO 2010 and the co-located IFT 2010 Annual Meeting and Food Expo open at Chicago’s McCormick Place on Sunday, July 18. Managed by the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) and running through Tuesday, July 20, PROCESS EXPO is vertically aligned with the food industry, offering packaging, processing and ingredients solutions in one comprehensive show.

“Attendees to the new co-located exposition in Chicago will have a unique opportunity to have the entire spectrum of the food industry in one place, at one time, bringing total solutions,” said FPSA Chairman Scott Scriven, who is also president of Weber Inc.

“Many of our customers are now working in cross-functional teams by having R&D, quality control, processing, engineering and operations all at one place, at one time,” Scriven added. “It allows them the opportunity to bring a much better product to the market.”

According to FPSA, more than 20,000 people are expected to participate in the show, which will feature new technologies, products and services for automation, food safety and energy efficiency. Solutions to help meet the requirements of new regulations and sustainable packaging will also be on display.

Offered as part of IFT 2010, the conference session will feature Keynote Speaker Daniel H. Pink, author of the new book, Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us. His presentation will address organizational incentives and how their use often does not lead to the expected and desired results.

The educational sessions will feature the Scientific Program, which is broken down into a wide variety of tracks of interest such as food safety and defense, food processing and packaging, and food engineering. Full registration admits attendees to all unticketed conference events.
