Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream will expand its Skowhegan, ME facility by 3,810 sq. ft. to meet increased demand. The $1.6 million expansion will add floor space, two steam kettles, a quart filler and a shrink wrapper.
Cargill plans a $50 million expansion at its Wichita, KS soybean processing plant.
Unilever and US Cold Storage opened its new 336,500-sq.-ft. freezer facility in Covington, TN. The facility connects to an existing 815,000-sq.-ft. ice cream manufacturing facility.
AbiMar Foods (Abilene, TX) plans to expand its two cracker manufacturing facilities at a cost of $1.5 million.
Skally’s Old World Bakery, a maker of bagels and pita bread, plans to invest $40 million to build a 350,000-sq.-ft. production facility in West Harrison, IN.
ConAgra Foods is spending $13 million to expand its Slim Jim smokehouse facilities in Troy, OH by 10,000 sq. ft. The processor will also purchase production equipment.
Sargento Foods will add 60,000 sq. ft. and 140 employees to its Hilbert, WI facility by late 2016.
Koch Foods is investing $35 million to expand its chicken processing plants in Morton and Forest, MS.
Glanbia plans a $140 million expansion of its cheese/whey plant in Clovis, NM.
