Sara Lee Coffee & Tea Co. is expanding their Suffolk, Va., plant through the additional of a $93 million concentrated liquid coffee production line. This capital investment represents the largest ever undertaken by the company and the product and unit will be the first of their kind in the United States. Plans call for the construction of a 152,000-sq.ft. building and the installation of proprietary processing and packaging equipment to produce a frozen liquid concentrate coffee that keeps up to 21 hours at room temperature after brewed.

With a new state-of-the-art research and development center and a super-streamlined communications system, Parker Hannifin Corporation's Process Filtration Division is primed for an exciting future of innovation and customer service. Parker has completed the move into its brand new office building in northwest Indianapolis' growing Intech Park. In addition to having the modern infrastructure in place for its employees to excel, Parker is excited about the promise of residing at Intech, where it can share ideas with the more than 15 other high-tech companies now based there.

JR Simplot Co. has broken ground on a new $80 million potato processing plant near Portage la Prairie, Manitoba in Canada. Construction is scheduled to be completed by August of 2003 on this plant that will process 300 million pounds of potatoes annually into french fries and other frozen potato products. Burlington, Wash.-based Fisher & Sons Inc. has been selected to provide engineering and construction management and Calgary, Alberta-based Stuart Olson Construction will construct the 200,000-sq.-ft. production building.
