Unilever North American Ice Cream is investing $7 million to upgrade its Good Humor-Breyers plant in Hagerstown, MD.

Coca-Cola North America is building a new wastewater treatment facility in Kapolei, HI, that will pre-treat plant wastewater for the company's syrup plant. The plant should be operational by March 2007.

Paris-based Danone is investing $66 million over three years to increase organic yogurt production capacity at its Stonyfield Farm site in Londonderry, NH.

Nestle selected a 190-acre site in Anderson, IN, to build a $359 million, 880,000-sq.-ft. factory and distribution center. The facility will produce Nesquick ready-to-drink and Coffee-Mate liquid products. Anticipated opening is spring of 2008.

Dakota Provisions opened its new turkey processing plant in Huron, SD, in the spring. The 150,000-sq.-ft. facility cost $45 million to build and currently employs 400 people.

A&B Process Systems recently opened a test center in Stratford, WI, to help food and beverage companies implement new processing technologies. Manufacturers can conduct trials using their recipes and ingredients in some of the latest fluid processing technologies, including the PDX Sonic system, a self-contained process system utilizing steam-based shockwave technology to homogenize, pump, and heat simultaneously.
