Capable of detecting metal, glass, dense plastics and other contaminants in packaged food, the Thermo Scientific Xpert C400 X-ray system can be used for thicker, denser products; wet, semi-frozen products; metalized packaging structures; and/or higher-speed production. It also analyzes X-ray images to estimate weight and fill or determine whether a packaged item has missing objects. A compact sanitary drum motor drives the conveyor. Operating over a 5°C to 40°C temperature range, the system meets IP65 requirements for dust and washdowns.
