Chinese officials arrest food fraudsters who injected lamb with pond water
Seven people in southern Guangdong province have been arrested, according to reports.

Seven people have been arrested for injecting slaughtered lambs with pond water to increase its weight for sale. According to a report from China Central Television, the illegal lamb abattoir was raided at the end of December, and authorities found 30 carcasses injected with water, 335 live sheep, forged inspection stamps and injection equipment. A Pew Research Foundation poll in 2013 found 40 percent of Chinese think food safety is "a very big problem" in their country.
