Center for Food Safety sues USDA over Monsanto document release
The Center had initially sought the documents through a Freedom of Information Act request, but was rebuffed.

The Center for Food Safety filed a lawsuit seeking to force USDA to turn over 1,179 documents pertaining to the agency's decision to approve genetically modified Roundup Ready Alfalfa created by Monsanto. The public interest organization initially sought the information through a Freedom of Information Act request in 2011, but says USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) withheld documents and ignored an administrative appeal.
