The latest in gum pack technology is VELCRO Brand.

Mentos’ new Pure Fresh Gum Wallet Packs feature the VELCRO Brand Press-Lok closure system, which has a thin profile so consumers can easily fit the small package into their pocket or handbag.

Perfetti Van Melle, which makes Mentos, has integrated the easy-to-use sensory closure into the packaging to ensure the product stays sealed and fresh.

The VELCRO Brand Press-Lok closure system is a proprietary hook-to-hook technology, made especially for the flexible packaging market. With just a squeeze of both sides, Press-Lok closures easily align to create a secure seal that consumers can both feel and hear.

"Our partnership with Perfetti Van Melle is an exciting step for us; it marks the first time our Press-Lok closure is used on a confectionery product in North America," says Jurjen Jacobs, vice president of marketing and innovation, Velcro Companies.

Available in Fresh Mint, Spearmint, and Watermelon flavors, these new wallet-sized packs contain 12 pieces of sugar-free Mentos Pure Fresh Gum, known for its long-lasting freshness and flavor.

"Perfetti Van Melle is always innovating what confectionery can do in order to meet consumer expectations," says Sylvia Buxton, vice president, marketing, Perfetti Van Melle. "With the VELCRO Brand trademark on our packaging, we're providing extra value to our customers who can be assured that their favorite Mentos gum is sealed securely — and easily — in its package."
