FDA recalls more than double in Q3, says ExpertRECALL
The most recent index says 7 million food units were recalled by FDA in the third quarter.

According to tracking by ExpertRECALL, FDA more than doubled food recalls in Q3 over the previous quarter. The firm's most recent index says seven million units of food were recalled, with 86 percent of recalls classified as Class 1, the most serious type. That represents the highest percentage of Class 1 recalls in seven quarters.
The index also identifies a growing trend towards internatinal recalls. One in three FDA-regulated recalls involved the US and at least one other country. To view ExpertRECALL's reports, click here.
