Grocery Manufacturers Association says industry self-regulation working on marketing to children

Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) responded to the latest Federal Trade Commission report on food and beverage marketing to children, saying it affirms the industry’s progress. GMA President and CEO Pamela G. Bailey says, “self regulation is an effective mechanism for ensuring that the products seen on children’s programming are foods and beverages that help families achieve a healthy diet.” Food and beverage companies have worked with the Children’s Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative (CFBAI) to implement changes in the marketing landscape that have resulted in virtually all CFBAI member ads promoting healthier food choices.
