Albertsons president and chief operating officer Jim Donald has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Albertsons Companies. Chairman and CEO Robert Miller remains as chairman of the Board.

Fonterra, a New Zealand-based dairy co-op, has instituted a new way for employees to spend time outside their day jobs on internal company projects which would normally be outside their scope of work as defined by their job description. This match-making system is designed to enable employees with talent and skills they don’t normally use to get involved in projects that are exciting, but normally not open to them.

Six dairy companies have been chosen to participate in the 2018 Land O'Lakes, Inc. Dairy Accelerator, which will provide tailored coursework and mentorship to dairy entrepreneurs.

Ramen maker Maruchan Virginia, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Toyo Suisan Kaisha Ltd., has broken ground on a manufacturing expansion on its Chesterfield, Va. campus.

The Board of Trustees of the Meat Industry Hall of Fame proudly announces seven new members will be inducted into the Hall as the Class of 2018. Approximately 40 industry titans were nominated this year, and the Class of 2018 was elected from those nominees by the Trustees and all the living Members of the Hall. Nominees included industry executives, scientists, innovators and association leaders from all sectors of the livestock, meatpacking and poultry processing industries.
