THE HERSHEY COMPANY and B&G FOODS, INC. have entered into a definitive agreement for Hershey to acquire Pirate Brands, including the Pirate’s Booty, Smart Puffs and Original Tings brands.
After a recent third-party audit, ARKEMA’S Calvert City, Ky., plant has been successfully certified to meet Halal certification requirements for its Kynar PVDF brand of polymer processing aids.
KRONES has acquired the business operations and assets of SHANGHAI XIANTONG EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION. The Chinese company has been a partner and supplier to Krones in the field of process technology for many years.

SUN-MAID GROWERS OF CALIFORNIA formed a licensing agreement with FLOWERS FOODS, allowing the latter to produce and distribute Sun-Maid raisin bread to approximately 80 percent of the US population.
CAT SQUARED is joining the CTB, Inc. family of brands. CTB is a global designer, manufacturer and marketer of agricultural systems and solutions. CAT Squared is CTB’s first acquisition of a software provider.
Layn Natural Ingredients
Layn entered a strategic marketing agreement with Firmenich, a flavors business.
ROQUETTE GROUP, a supplier of plant-based ingredients and a pioneer in new vegetal proteins, acquired a Netherlands-based facility specializing in the extrusion of plant-based proteins. With this acquisition, the group will expand its range of textured plant-based ingredients for the global meat alternatives market.
BRABENDER TECHNOLOGIE celebrated its 60th anniversary with a new building incorporating its Tech Center in Duisburg, Germany. Its second-floor test lab can simulate filling, refilling and feeding processes.
ALBERTSONS COMPANIES appointed JIM DONALD as its president and chief executive officer. ROBERT MILLER will continue as the chairman of the board.
COCA-COLA BOTTLING CO. CONSOLIDATED appointed SCOTT ANTHONY as the company’s executive vice president, chief financial officer, effective December 31, 2018. Anthony served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ventura Foods since 2011. Anthony succeeds DAVE KATZ, who will transition to his new role of president and chief operating officer on
December 31, 2018.
WAGO appointed EVAN SYENS as its new product manager for electrical splicing connectors. He previously spent three years at Werner Electric Supply as corporate accounts manager, and four years at Hellermann Tyton.
BÜHLER AEROGLIDE appointed TOM BARBER, as vice president of capital sales, and JASON PINTUFF, as director of process engineering.
AMCOR appointed ERIC ROEGNER as president of Amcor Rigid Plastics. Roegner succeeds Mike Schmitt and will be based in Ann Arbor, Mich. Roegner has 12 years executive leadership roles with Arconic, Inc.
