General Mills, Inc. announced Thursday it will sell its Green Giant and Le Sueur vegetable businesses to B&G Foods, Inc., for approximately $765 million.

General Mills has voluntarily recalled a limited quantity of frozen Cascadian Farm Cut Green Beans produced over two days in March of last year.

 Because of the limited production capacity while producing in one facility, it will re-enter parts of 15 states in five phases. 

 Global sales of ice cream reached $50 billion for the first time in 2014. 

 The two-part series will begin on September 15. 

 Researchers will explore ways to reduce sodium and saturated fat, eliminate partially hydrogenated oils, incorporate more vegetables and create gluten-free and high-protein options. 

Chicago-based Aspen Foods, a division of Koch Poultry Company, issued a recall of approximately 1,978,680 pounds of frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken product that may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, according to USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) has launched the “AFFI Trade and Regulatory Database,” an online tool the organization says is designed to help AFFI members navigate global regulatory policies that affect the trade of frozen fruit and vegetable products.

 Federal and Minnesota state officials are investigating outbreaks of Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to raw, frozen, breaded and pre-browned stuffed chicken entrées. 

With its ice cream still absent from store shelves, Blue Bell Creameries said it notified FDA and state health officials in Alabama it will begin test production at the Sylacauga, AL facility during the next several weeks.
