Dean Foods Company has completed its acquisition of the manufacturing and retail ice cream business of Friendly’s Ice Cream for $155 million.

The company says it will invest $65 million to add a 32,000-sq.-ft. expansion to the existing fry plant featuring the latest manufacturing equipment and technology.

CRF Frozen Foods laid off an additional 61 employees amid an ongoing shutdown at its Pasco, WA plant that has been connected to a listeria contamination.
