ABA is the Washington, D.C.-based trade association that has been the voice, your voice, of the wholesale baking industry since 1897. ABA has a long and dedicated history of representing the interests of the wholesale baking industry before the U.S. Congress, federal agencies, state legislatures and agencies, and international regulatory authorities.

ABA represents approximately 80% of the wholesale bakeries in the U.S. as well as their suppliers. Through our association, member baking and allied companies are closely integrated and work together to achieve goals and solve industry challenges to strengthen the baking industry. In addition, ABA works closely with all of its industry partners to maximize the scope and influence of the industry.

ABA is a member-driven association and each company needs to fully participate in order to strengthen the industry and have an impact on the critical policy and industry issues. Full participation by all segments of the baking industry is vital to ABA’s long-term success. Check out ABA's committees and see how you can be involved in strengthening the industry.

ABA tackles key issues facing the grain-based foods industry either by initiating positive policy changes to provide more opportunities or by protecting the industry from misguided policies detrimental to business. ABA focuses on several key areas that directly impact the bottom line in the production and distribution of the industry’s products. They include:

  • Commodities and Trade
  • Energy & Environmental Health
  • Fleet & Distribution
  • Food Technical
  • Human Resources
  • Safety
  • Transporation
