FOOD ENGINEERING's Annual Food Plant Construction Survey

Download Survey Form (Microsoft Word Format)

What is it?
During the first quarter of each year, FOOD ENGINEERING’s editorial staff uncovers hundreds of new plant projects of $1 million or more planned, underway or completed in the previous calendar year. We need your input to make this year’s survey as complete as possible. The survey results, which will appear in the June issue of FOOD ENGINEERING, bring your organization’s projects to the attention of our readers—the key decision makers in the food industry.

In addition to compiling the list of all food and beverage construction projects, we will track industry trends. On the second page of the downloadable Survey Form, you will see a brief set of questions. Please jot down a few thoughts to answer each question.

Who should respond to this survey?
Food and beverage processors; architectural and engineering firms; state or local economic development departments.

What types of projects should I submit?
The survey will list all major food and beverage manufacturing plant projects of $1 million or more in North America planned, under construction or completed during 2020. This includes renovations, expansions and greenfield plant projects. It includes food distribution centers. Please do not submit retail locations.

What is the deadline?
April 10, 2021

What type of information is required?
For each plant project submitted, we require food/beverage company name; city and state location; types of products produced; type of project: greenfield, expansion or renovation; project cost; size in square feet; name of engineering/construction firm; and project completion date.

Should I submit photos of the projects?
We strongly encourage you to send photos or artist renderings of your projects for inclusion in the finished article.

Should I submit international projects?
This survey covers North America only. Please submit plants in the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America and nearby island nations.

Is anything else required?
On the second page of the form, please don’t forget to jot down a few thoughts to answer each question.

Where should I send completed forms and photos?
To assure the final published accuracy of the projects you add to the table, please email the completed Word document to Wayne Labs, Senior Technical Editor: Email: labsw@bnpmedia.com. Please do NOT send PDF files or faxes of the project table. You may fax written responses to the questions, but we encourage attaching the completed responses in the Word document.
Fax: 248-786-1424

Questions?
Please call Wayne Labs at 215-345-4548 or email: labsw@bnpmedia.com

Thank you for your support of this important industry-wide research project. We look forward to hearing about your accomplishments.
