All that Jazz

October 7, 2003
The Worldwide Food Expo ’03 jazzes up Chicago with new technology, products and services for the food industry.

More than 30,000 attendees, including 1,500 international attendees from 150 countries, are expected at McCormick Place for the Worldwide Food Expo 2003.
Chicago is, as Mark Twain said, “always a novelty, for she is never the Chicago you saw when you passed through the last time.” If you passed through Chicago for the last Worldwide Food Expo, be sure to come by again—the city isn’t the only thing that has changed. This year’s Worldwide Food Expo features several new sponsors, an expanded Food, Dairy & Beverage Exposition and a new Bev Expo Zone.

Held at McCormick Place, the show runs from October 29-November 1, 2003. This year’s sponsors include the American Meat Institute (AMI), the International Association of Food Industry Suppliers (IAFIS), the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), and the newest co-sponsors of the event—the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) and the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI). Worldwide Food Expo ’03 also features two co-located events—the AMI International Meat, Poultry & Seafood Convention and Exposition and the Food, Dairy & Beverage Exposition.

In the more than one million square feet of exhibit space, attendees have access to over 1,200 exhibitors, who will be offering the latest in processing, packaging, equipment, and services. A number of social and networking events such as the Washington Insider Breakfast and several association-sponsored receptions further offer chances to build buyer-seller relationships. Throughout the four-day event the show program also includes a series of 60 educational seminars with topics ranging from supermarket trends to preparing for bioterrorism regulations.

As part of the Food, Dairy & Beverage Exposition, the new Bev Expo Zone provides a strong focus on innovations in non-carbonated beverages like juices and new age drinks, as well as carbonated beverages. Equipment, packaging, processing and vending will all be presented. In particular, the Bev Expo Zone will focus on how the latest innovations in formulation and food sanitation systems go hand-in-hand with beverage technology.

The AMI International Meat, Poultry & Seafood Convention and Exposition focuses on technology, offering profit-building solutions for the meat, poultry and seafood industries. Attendees can visit specialty exhibits focused on snack foods, frozen foods, packaging, as well as pavilions dedicated to Product Development and Facilities, Distribution and Refrigeration.

To register for the Worldwide Food Expo or to obtain more information about the show, visit www.worldwidefood.com or call 703-645-9302. For more information about the sponsoring associations visit the association web sites: www.meatami.com; www.iafis.org; www.idfa.org; www.bottledwater.org; or www.affi.org.
