Plant Openings: September 2016

September 16, 2016

AGT Food and Ingredients opened a multimillion dollar expansion at its Minot, ND pulse products facility. The 33,000-sq.-ft. addition will add 20 jobs to the current roster of 80.

Berner Food and Beverage, maker of snacks and sauces, broke ground on a $70 million, 220,000-sq.-ft. expansion at its existing location in Dakota, IL. The new plant, slated for completion in November, will create approximately 200 jobs.

First announced in February 2015, Elmer Chocolate completed its $40 million, 70,000-sq.-ft. addition to its facility in Ponchatoula, LA. The expansion adds 10 jobs to the workforce.

Dean Snyder Construction was selected by Kraft Heinz for a $100- million design-build project in New Ulm, MN. Crews broke ground in February 2016 and will be remodeling 40,000 sq. ft. of the existing Velveeta production facility. The project includes an additional 20,000 sq. ft. for a new liquid and powder processing room.

Improved Nature LLC will build a new plant in Garner, NC to produce vegetable-based meat substitute products. The $3-million investment will create 15 jobs.

Wiegmann Associates has begun work on a design/build HVAC project for High Country Beverage’s new 130,000-sq.-ft. refrigerated beer warehouse in Johnstown, CO. The two-story facility will be used for product storage, product shipping and office spaces.
