Bühler Inc, a global supplier in process engineering and technology for food, feed and advanced industrial materials, has announced the appointment of Andy Sharpe as its new President and CEO. Sharpe, who succeeds René Steiner, will take over on the first of January.
The Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA) has named Fisher Construction Group the winner of CEBA’s “Built by the Best” Award for its cold storage facility constructed for NewCold in Tacoma, WA. The project is NewCold’s first facility in the US, and it is reportedly the second high-bay, low-oxygen freezer in the country.
The Kraft Heinz Co. has announced plans to sell its Canadian natural cheese business to Italian company Parmalat for approximately $1.23 billion. The agreement includes the sale of natural cheese brands Cracker Barrel, P’tit Quebec and aMOOza! in the Canadian market.

Kraft Heinz has launched a new venture capital fund to invest in emerging tech companies that are transforming the food industry. Kraft Heinz has committed up to $100 million to the fund, named Evolv Ventures, and has hired investor Bill Pescatello to lead the fund.
