The recall is out of an abundance of caution following a notification from the company’s supplier that the “easy-open,” pull-tab can lid on limited products encountered a manufacturing defect that may compromise the integrity of the product seal.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced it is investigating consumer complaints of Cronobacter sakazakii and Salmonella Newport infections. All of the cases are reported to have consumed powdered infant formula produced from Abbott Nutrition’s Sturgis, Mich. facility.
