The Mechanical Lip Seal (MLS), designed for pumps in high-viscosity applications, combines the versatility of mechanical packing and the advanced performance of a mechanical seal. Three interchangeable PTFE sealing elements can be replaced or repaired on-site, extend- ing the longevity of the seal, shortening downtime and simplifying maintenance. The MLS has a 316 stainless-steel gland and sleeve, and the three modular PTFE sealing elements which sequentially control system pressure. The seal can also be configured for vacuum services, using a pressure transducer for system monitoring, or for abrasive services, using an internal packing ring.
