Effective October 1, Brad Davidson, president of Kellogg North America, will retire after three decades with Kellogg Company. Paul Norman was appointed to the newly created role of chief growth officer, while Chris Hood will succeed Norman as president, Kellogg Europe.

Design, construction and engineering firm Stellar has begun preconstruction on a $53 million product technology center for Nestlé USA in Solon, OH.

Hillshire Brands signed an agreement to acquire the maker of Golden Island jerky products.

Ken Johnson has been promoted to vice president of engineering for industrial automation manufacturer Opto 22.

Eriez acquired UK-based Centriforce Limited, and will add Centriforce’s portfolio of advanced coolant filtration systems to its Hydroflow line.

Lavazza Premium Coffees Corporation has appointed Michele J. Abo as director of sales for North America, while Ricky Khetarpaul joins the company as director of finance & administration for North America.

Spirax Sarco named Lorraine Wiseman as president and general manager.

Rick Urschel has been appointed president/CEO of Urschel Laboratories, where he previously served as vice president of operations. He will succeed Bob Urschel, who will remain with the company as chairman of the board.

Global electronic components company Molex Incorporated has completed its acquisition of FCT Electronics Group.

Brynwood Partners announced its newly formed portfolio company, Lightlife Foods, Inc., acquired ConAgra Foods’ Lightlife brand.

Endress+Hauser added an 85,000 sq.-ft. extension to its Flow Engineering manufacturing plant and a 105,000-sq.-ft. extension to its level and pressure manufacturing plant at its Greenwood, IN facility.

American Meat Institute and North American Meat Institute have initiated talks about a possible merger, after each organization’s executive committee voted in favor of pursuing discussions about a new organization to represent the meat industry.

Cargill’s board of directors elected David W. MacLennan, currently the company’s president and chief operating officer, as chief executive officer.

Jamison RFID appointed Anthony J. Dublino director of commercial business, North America, and Gina Lehman director of business.

Dave Garlow has been named president and CEO of Viega LLC.

POWER Engineers appointed Sam Casey, formerly of HJ Heinz, to the company’s facilities and food and beverage team.

Bob West has been named director of business development, food and beverage for Ryan Companies US, Inc.

Emiel Van Dijk was appointed sales and marketing director for Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate sales team.

Senomyx announced Ken Snyder, chairman of the board of directors and CEO, will retire as CEO effective January 2, 2014 and will continue to serve as chairman of the board of directors. John Poyhonen will succeed Snyder as CEO.

Lincoln Romero has joined FMC Health and Nutrition in the newly created position of business director for Latin America.

UniCarriers Americas appointed Anthony J. Salgado as president and James J. Radous III as executive vice president of sales. Steve Cianci was appointed vice president of sales and marketing, Dan Domberg was appointed vice president of aftermarket customer satisfaction and Dale Mark was appointed vice president of manufacturing operations.
