Industry news

Nestlé USA will move its US headquarters from Glendale, CA to Rosslyn, VA.

System Logistics, a Krones Group company, made an asset acquisition of the Vertique business from Illinois Tool Works Inc.

The Austin-based company, Applied Food Sciences, a natural ingredient supplier specializing in botanical extracts for food, beverages and supplements, opened its Midwest-based Innovation Center in Iowa City, IA.

Manitowoc Foodservice announced it is rebranding the company, its logo and its brand identity to Welbilt, Inc.

The largest Ross manufacturing facility to date has been complete. Ross Wuxi Equipment, the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary in China, moved into its new 250,000-sq.ft. home.

Dixon Valve & Coupling Company, a manufacturer and supplier of hose fittings and accessories, acquired Automated Design Services, Inc. (ADS Controls) of Covington, LA.

eighteen94 capital, Kellogg Company’s venture capital fund, announced it led a $4.25 million funding of Kuli Kuli, a manufacturer and distributor of moringa-based products.

Camfil Air Pollution Control (APC), a manufacturer of dust, mist and fume collection equipment, has doubled the size of its testing laboratory.

Ecolab Inc. has closed on its previously announced acquisition of French company Laboratoires Anios.


People news

Kellogg Company announced Fareed Khan has been named CFO and principal financial officer. Khan will succeed Ron Dissinger, who will remain with the company in 2017.

The International Trademark Association elected Joseph Ferretti — vice president and chief counsel, global trademarks, PepsiCo, Inc. — as the 2017 president of the association and chair of its board of directors.

Norm Kukuk, executive vice president of marketing for ORBIS Corporation, was elected as the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) chairman of the board for 2017.

Volkmann, Inc., manufacturer of contained product transfer systems, appointed Lori Clark as vice president of operations.

MOCON, Inc. named Maurice Janssen as its senior vice president of global sales and marketing and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Minneapolis.

TricorBraun promoted Gregg Aukeman to package qualification manager and hired Ryan Fichuk as packaging quality engineer.

The Austin Company, a design, engineering, construction and location consulting firm, promoted Steven VanWormer to vice president and general manager, Michigan, and Duane Lofdahl to vice president and general manager, Atlanta.

Polymer Logistics, manufacturer of retail-ready reusable packaging, has named Paul Pederson as vice president of protein and dairy supply chain and food safety.

Garden-Fresh Foods has hired Tom Sterle as executive chef.

Hapman, manufacturer of equipment and systems for bulk material handling, appointed Keith Rouse as the new director of marketing to its global operations.
